Primary care unit
As of April 2021, Seenpraxis is the first primary care center in the province of Salzburg. In addition to extended opening hours, our patients also benefit from an expanded range of services. Enrollment is required to take advantage of this.

Medical students and doctors have been trained at the Seenpraxis for many years. This is to the benefit of our healthcare system and our patients.
The family doctor as health manager
As the primary care provider, the family doctor (general practitioner) is the health manager and primary and trusted contact for all health issues. He is the hub of the healthcare system, so he holds the key position in the system. As a primary care provider, he prepares the most important findings himself, coordinates and evaluates the findings of various specialties and advises patients entrusted to him in the summary of the findings.
The family doctor as lead physician
Medicine is becoming more expensive and more complicated. The patient needs a guide through the maze of specialties and their subspecializations and the resulting therapies. Most patients are overwhelmed by the question of which doctor they should turn to first for a particular ailment.
Ongoing training
If post-doctoral training already includes a comprehensive view of medicine, this also applies to further training. A valid advanced training diploma from the ÖÄK guarantees that your general practitioner remains up to date in the main specialist areas of medicine.
General medicine is a subject in its own right and therefore all medical faculties must establish their own university institutes for general medicine. Every medical student must be taught and examined in general medicine and thus recognize the independence of the subject of general medicine. This requirement has finally been met in Austria since 2002 (in Vienna since 2001).

Every citizen should know the name of their family doctor, every family doctor should know their patients by name. He knows the social environment of the patients and families entrusted to his care. The focus is on the patient and not on the symptoms of the disease, and he also takes care of the healthy people entrusted to him by actively taking prophylactic measures.
